In this video Jessica Simpson stands up against a male contestant on her fashion show. It's great to see a female celebrity taking a stand against a chauvinist man.
Wow! I hadn't seen this before. It is quite interesting that the man designing was so comfortable disregarding the women's perspectives. As Jessica Simpson said, the fashion business has historically been a women's world (at least in terms of consumers).
What I wonder is whether or not women's opinions are as highly valued as men, even in this industry?
I find this video very intriguing. It almost seems ironic to me that a woman is having to stand up to a man in the fashion world. I would imagine that many people would think that her opinion would be held above his. But I believe that with all the changes in society and it not being quite as concrete in terms of which industry each gender can and can't be apart of. If I had to decide between taking a woman's fashion opinion, or a man's I would base it solely off their individual style and who fits my needs more.
